Engineering Analytics Inc. (EA), a civil and environmental engineering firm headquartered in Fort Collins, Colorado, has joined MacKay, a multidisciplinary consulting firm based in Vancouver, Washington. Through this acquisition, EA becomes part of a broader, integrated team, expanding opportunities to deliver enhanced engineering, environmental, and consulting services. EA’s existing offices in California and New Mexico will continue to support regional clients while benefiting from the additional resources, expertise, and collaborative network provided by MacKay.
The acquisition strengthens MacKay’s ability to serve clients across the Western United States while adding new technical expertise and expanding services in several key markets.
Founded in 2008, Engineering Analytics brings specialized experience in industrial and aerospace site remediation, mining, water resources, municipal infrastructure, development, and power and energy. The firm’s team of 65 professionals and strong client relationships across the Southwest complement MacKay’s growing capabilities.
“This acquisition marks a major milestone for our firm,” said Derrick Smith, president and CEO of MacKay. “EA’s values, technical excellence and culture of service align closely with ours. Together, we’re building a stronger organization that creates more opportunities for our employees and delivers even greater value to our clients.”
Engineering Analytics’ leadership team will continue in key roles within the combined organization. Dan Overton, formerly CEO and President of Engineering Analytics, now serves as Vice President for MacKay’s Southwest Region, while Erik Nelson, previously EA’s Vice President, has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of MacKay. Both will remain based in Fort Collins and help guide regional growth and operations.
Engineering Analytics will continue operating under its current name during the integration process before transitioning to the MacKay brand in September of 2026.
We look forward to introducing our clients to our new colleagues at MacKay and to leveraging our combined expertise to better serve our clients. Together, we are confident in what we can build and the lasting value we will create for the communities we serve.
Supporting Long-Term Growth
The acquisition is part of MacKay’s broader growth strategy, supported by its strategic partnership with SkyKnight Capital, a private equity firm focused on scaling professional services organizations.
