Engineering Analytics, Inc. (EA) has extensive expertise providing engineering solutions for mine and mill sites. EA’s senior staff have on average over 25 years of experience serving the mining industry. Together they have extensive expertise providing environmental and engineering solutions for mine and mill site permitting, operations, closure and reclamation. EA has successfully completed projects for numerous mineral, metal, uranium, aggregate, and coal mine and mill sites across the United States and around the world.
EA’s technical services include geologic engineering support for mining operations, such as: geotechnical evaluations, hydrologic characterization, water management, including collaboration with treatment specialists, as well as optimizing the water treatment process and management of treatment residuals. We complete engineering design for open pits, tailings impoundments, waste rock piles, heap-leach piles, and other mine features. EA routinely provides engineering design, plans and specifications, construction management, and construction oversight services. Our staff have designed and executed sampling plans for mine materials, air, soil, sediment, surface water (including lakes and reservoirs), and groundwater as part of permitting and closure of sites.
EA provides complete reclamation and closure plans addressing heap leach pad, tailings impoundment, and waste rock closure. Our services include site grading, erosion and groundwater control, acid rock drainage mitigation, slope stability, cover and liner designs, geochemistry, and water balance. In collaboration with our clients, EA develops the best strategy to manage the environmental risks associated with closure and reclamation of mine sites.
EA provides technical design expertise for mining clients during permitting, operations, and closure phases. EA possesses particular expertise in integrating mineral deposit geology, environmental conditions, geologic structure, geochemical considerations, and hydrology into mine engineering designs.
EA staff has worked successfully with clients and regulatory agencies to develop reasonable approaches for permitting including assistance with permits for feasibility and environmental studies, geologic mapping and evaluations, facility siting, hydrogeology and water supply studies, corrective action and adaptive management plans, aquifer protection permits, operational compliance, and closure.
EA staff has expertise in all phases of design, repair, upgrades, and optimization of industrial and mine water treatment technologies and systems. EA offers expertise in water treatment optimization, process and pipeline design, electrical system and instrumentation and controls design, storage options, including tank and impoundments, sampling and monitoring, and bench and pilot testing for industrial and mine waters.
