Water Storage Planning and Delivery

EA believes that through the modernization of existing facilities and better management practices, we can enable owners and operators of this resource to account for and control their water. EA has broad technical expertise to aid our clients in managing and implementing technical solutions for dams and impoundments, irrigation systems, hydroelectric power generation plants, water supply and treatment systems, industrial and mining operations, and water conveyance systems.

Reservoir Feasibility Studies

EA staff have performed reservoir feasibility studies for numerous projects over our tenure. These studies include site evaluations to determine which site might provide the most benefit to our client, the general public, and the environment. Investigations, including geotechnical and geological conditions, GIS mapping, environmental considerations, archeological investigations, discussions with landowners and agencies, are all aimed toward the development of conceptual level designs and cost estimates.

Stream and Irrigation Ditch Design, Assessments, and Rehabilitation

Hydraulic modeling supports the design of instream hydraulic structures, and erosion protection sizing in streams and spillways. Our expertise in water resources results in designs that account for floodplain effects, varying sediment loads in rivers, project specific water rights, and other project specific needs. Current hydraulic structure projects include river restoration design, irrigation turnouts, flow measurement and instrumentation, erosion protection, bank stabilization, and diversion and delivery structures design.

River Restoration

EA has extensive experience in design and construction on river resiliency projects. EA has the required knowledge to collect river data, and then use the river data and modeling to understand the hydraulic and sedimentation phenomenon that occur within a project reach. We understand the hydrologic, ecologic, and political implications of river design and are dedicated to preserving this natural resource for generations to come.

Hydraulic Structures/Water Conveyance Structures

EA performs structural design to compliment the hydraulic design of water conveyance and control structures. Included in our experience is structural design of concrete hydraulic control structures including spillways, primary outlet towers, flumes, and other measuring structures. EA also has experience designing structural bulkheads under high head while supporting piping bypass.

Pipelines and Pump Stations

EA has designed pump stations for municipal, water treatment and seepage reclamation applications. These systems effectively deliver solutions that minimize maintenance, optimize efficiency and incorporate advanced control systems. These applications also include mining tailings seepage water and other water quality applications.

Preparation of Requests for Grant Funding

EA staff have extensive experience in water systems which allows us to work with our clients to develop solutions that meet project constraints while achieving the highest performance possible. EA staff consists of engineers and scientists that offer their expertise in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, hydraulic engineering, and surface water and groundwater hydrology.
